GM Report

 OFFICIAL GM REPORT

Despite Wakefield’s world-class preparation at the 5-star ‘Lord in the North Chess Academy & Spa’, they still got absolutely rolled by Hudds lads who train above a Greggs. Thoughts and prayers to all premium members who backed the away team.
And why wouldn't you want a membership? According to the website it's the best chess club in the UK!
Of course you'd never actually see someone like Peter Shaw dead in it. The Wakefield legend who pushed Adams to the limit has more serious things to do...
Stevie W does not seem to be GrandMaster Howitt's biggest fan. Anyone would think Yorkshire chess officials would like chess to thrive in Yorkshire... but they go a funny way about it sometimes...
I predicted around this score when speaking with Leo Keely and it's nice to see all Huddersfield players remained unbeaten. Wakefield have experienced players and a win is a win.
Since it's the over 500,000 week on my website I half thought about playing myself. I hadn't trained enough really yet I still believe the Mark Howitt who beat Greg Eagleton in 2004 with black despite his dad trying to help still has more to show the chess world. I do remain unbeaten in graded games since Jan 2007.
Love to see the win 😉
