It is interesting but the ECF should only fund players who are actually English. We shouldn't attempt to 'buy' players and any player born in England should want to represent England...
Will quickly add this- the government rebate should also be given to clubs/have some benefit to club players. Seems quite complex but all I've seen so far is a few tourns get a bit more funding- much money has been wasted on concrete chess sets- some of which have been trashed.
