It's because women are naturally more sociable etc :) But yes nice to see new ones coming through... I have a female student who's been only playing 6 months but has beaten me in 1 game but I've beaten her in 3... no reason why women can't reach 2000 in a few years if they want

which at first sight is a really powerful account. It feels right to focus and talk about women in chess which has been a neglected topic over the years- there is still far too big a ratio in favour of male players.
