Are you a CHESS GRANDMASTER?

NO I AM NOT! Not even close to that level in chess prob...

Just because I've had a novel out since 2005 close to GM Walter Tevis level (he's dead now) does not mean I can PLAY chess to a GM level. I could kind of tell reading The Queen's Gambit when I was 17 Tevis wasn't actually a STRONG chess player although it was VERY WELL written...

I still do PLAY chess though... even though I don't put in time LEARNING new opening theory... not that much anyway...

I still play some nice combos though... I guess subconsciously I remember what I've seen... some openings I do know pretty deep as I've been playing them for many years...

At some point I'd like to do a Vid titled I AM NOT A CHESS GRANDMASTER ... part of me is surprised I've talked to so many titled players since 2005...

When I coach I like to make sure I'm BEST VALUE FOR MONEY UK coach ON THE INTERNET. I do that by making my prices CHEAP... and usually only teaching players who don't have as much experience...

Can be worth learning some chess just for mental sharpness as Peter Wells said...

You have to understand though that for the INFLUENTIAL writers and artists... many of them are MORE FAMOUS after death...

Now again I'm not saying I'm near these people kind of levels BUT my writing will still be there after I'm dead. Over 10 million views worldwide so far.

Interesting note perhaps... dumb lefty or fakers writing still might be there AFTER their deaths... yet history may just either laugh at them or forget them.

It's interesting that on my blog my post from 2012 on Having A Long Term Perspective is still getting views...

Surreal to think a few of my readers would either have not been born or be small children when I wrote that...

I always have had that mentality I guess. Want to be one of the best young chessplayers in Yorkshire? No alcohol for you, bad for your brain and pocket. Cigarettes? A short term hit for damaging your lungs... no.

I don't even have any tattoos or piercings. Now of course there are plenty of attractive girls with tattoos who have pictures with me... I'm not going to stop THEM getting tattoos but me...

Not best use of my money. How would it look as I grow older...

It's HARD to get to the GM level... and I'm so lucky that I have GMs in the DMs in other areas...

I remember when I was writing and finishing my novel in 2005... and read people like American Jim Goad who said FORGET about getting money if you want to do writing...

And it's true in a way... you have to write what you want and not think about the money while writing I think... this is coming from someone who has about 1 million views on his financial writing worldwide...
