How many football players would carry on if they were getting paid NO MONEY???

They go on strike and break their contract etc if they're not paid for a few weeks sometimes...
So yeah... in a nutshell as well as the amount of time etc it takes... this is why many people quit chess.
Like all these young people... many when they get to like 18... they're quite smart if they're decent players... they're like... wait I could do ANYTHING else nearly and get more money...
Hmmmmmmmmmmmsssssssssss.......
I guess this is why quite a lot of people who play competitive OTB chess are either young or old...
