Chess Coaches/Players in Yorkshire... Value Your Time!
This is my last chess post today- I alluded to it in my last one yet think it's worth being more direct.
Value your time! Done quick call with my dad now... chatting about various things...
"Oh what's Peter Shaw doing now?" This was unprompted.
"Well... he's got a Maths Phd... I think he's got a regular job... yet he still plays chess a lot..."
As far as I'm aware these private schools I've mentioned have no real specialist chess teachers. Yet you don't see the teachers in these schools teaching FOR FREE do you? Yet there are still many parents how pay tens of thousands of pounds for the overall teaching...
Fact of the matter is for someone to be a proper chess coach it takes a LOT of practice and experience. A regular teacher COULDN'T be a proper chess coach to a talented player- the young player would be better than them! It's quite impressive to see how fast some young players improve these days... but there are still things more experienced players can teach them.
So value your time and ask for a fair rate for it chess coaches!
